Abstract:

The cultural heritage is the whole ancestors inherited assets united and conserved to be transmitted to the descendants. In recent decades the cultural heritage has changed considerably, it does not stop at monuments or collections of objects. It also includes traditions or living expressions inherited from our ancestors passed on to our descendants, “such as oral traditions, performing arts, social practices, rituals and festive events, knowledge and practices concerning nature and the universe or the knowledge and know-how necessary for traditional craftsmanship”[1]

In this article, we have chosen to speak about the intangible heritage of a region CHAOUIE in the east of Algeria, especially a village known as BHIRA TOUILA and in which  it managed to preserve some customs and traditions. In our methodological approach we used the case study used in sociology, based on direct observation and the semi-directive interview guide with eight people considered as the oldest and the respected, of whom only two from the region.
