Résumé

Si la transition démocratique en Tunisie a représenté une opportunité pour la politique de se rapprocher du peuple et une épreuve pour la démocratie face aux contradictions politiques, économiques et aux diverses crises sociales, elle a également marqué le début d’une renaissance sociale de concepts, de théories et d’approches qui se sont concrétisés à plusieurs reprises depuis janvier 2011. Parmi les plus importants et les plus influents sur la pérennité de la pratique démocratique figurent, sans doute, les valeurs de citoyenneté et de participation politique, la perception qu’ont les citoyens de leur identité, de la société et de l’État, ainsi que les enjeux du quotidien et du collectif.

Dans ce contexte, nous nous efforçons de comprendre et d’interpréter l’évolution de la pratique démocratique en Tunisie, ainsi que les expériences accumulées en matière de pratique politique, leurs contextes et leurs effets.

Dans cet ouvrage, nous avons cherché à répondre aux questions à l’intersection des données politiques, sociologiques, économiques et autres données scientifiques dont nous disposons. En tant que spécialistes en sociologie, nous avons considéré ces données comme une source précieuse de connaissances qui, compte tenu des contraintes de la période de rédaction et du contexte actuel, contribue à une synthèse critique. Cette synthèse s’inscrit dans un ensemble de travaux visant à documenter – non pas d’un point de vue historique, mais d’un point de vue sociologique – les événements survenus durant la décennie de transition démocratique.

Abstract

If the democratic transition in Tunisia represented an opportunity for politics to get closer to the people and a test for democracy in the face of political, economic contradictions and various social crises, it also marked the beginning of a social renaissance of concepts, theories and approaches that have materialized several times since January 2011. Among the most important and influential on the sustainability of democratic practice are, undoubtedly, the values of citizenship and political participation, the perception that citizens have of their identity, society and the state, as well as the challenges of everyday life and the collective.

In this context, we strive to understand and interpret the evolution of democratic practice in Tunisia, as well as the accumulated experiences in terms of political practice, their contexts and effects.

In this work, we have sought to answer questions at the intersection of political, sociological, economic and other scientific data available to us. As specialists in sociology, we have considered this data as a valuable source of knowledge that, given the constraints of the writing period and the current context, contributes to a critical synthesis. This synthesis is part of a set of works aimed at documenting – not from a historical point of view, but from a sociological one – the events that occurred during the decade of democratic transition.
