Abstract :
Ontological security is so important for the continuity of North Atlantic Treaty, through keeping its identity, therefore, on the light of the duality of “I”and “other”, Arab World has became from the priority of the Alliance, and it is considered as threat to member States security. Aiming to achieving its ontological security, NATO has drawn new identity that respond to political and security needs of post cold war period and post 11/09 events, through a set of strategic concepts starting by the 1991 strategic concept , beside pragmatic interests, that are considered from the priorities in the North Atlantic treaty security agenda, in this context, NATO has developed partnership and cooperation initiatives with Middle East and North Africa States such as Istanbul Initiative, Mediterranean Dialogue, and the 2010 strategic concept, that has fostered the Initiatives,, and It has led a series of interventions in some Arab States like Iraq and Libya.
